I am a Ph.D. student in Sociology at Duke University.
The big question that drives my research is how cultural change occurs. I leverage quantitative and computational methods to study what makes some, and not other, cultural objects successful and what individual-level processes produce or fail to produce macro-level cultural shifts.
To this end, I seek to bridge sociological and cultural evolution perspectives. My empirical work so far draws on large-scale historical data of Russian and Soviet literature. More on my research
